Course Description
The aim of this course is to introduce students from a variety of backgrounds to advanced univariatestatistics via the general linear model. The course is divided into three parts. First is a review of basicconcepts, such as descriptive and non-parametric statistics. Second is parametric analyses of groupdifferences, including t-tests and analyses of variance. Third is the detection of relations amongvariables, focusing on regression. Most class sessions will consist of a lecture and in-class analysisdemonstrations. Students will also further their understanding of key concepts through groupdiscussions, online quizzes, and hands-on homework assignments. Most analyses will be done usingthe standard statistical software packages SPSS and R
